This year we introduced a completely new type of trip – the Career Starter Trip. A select group of young potentials traveled to Amsterdam. Here they got the chance to network with startups and large tech companies to discover different job opportunities or open internship positions in the Amsterdam tech scene.
During this 2-day trip, selected students are given the opportunity to come in contact with tech companies that provide job and internship opportunities.
On Thursday, we started off with a visit to Cronos Amsterdam. There, the Cronos business ecosystem was explained and some of their companies gave exciting demos and talks. Afterwards, we went to visit Amazon. They focused on innovation stories within the company and explained possible career paths.
On Friday, IBM invited us to their Innovation Space. They told us more about the Associates program, lectured us on quantum computing and gave young employees the chance to tell us more about working at IBM. In the afternoon, we visited TQ, a coworking space and startup community. 5 companies had the chance to pitch in front of our students and then network with them. Our last visit was to INKEF Capital. On the 22nd floor, they introduced us to VC funding and the challenges of it. A networking session with beers & bitterballs was also included.
We would like to thank our partner Cronos Leuven for helping us make this trip possible and we hope to have inspired our group of high potentials.
